New Century Muse is an online publication dedicated to the creativity inspired, in Greek mythology, by The Muse.  We take additional encouragement from Benjamin Franklin — the first American to effectively combine that creativity with an interest in the quality of the political and social discourse that forms the foundation of the American way of life. His Poor Richard's Almanack serves as a model for this project.

Oh Muse, Thou dear one, sing to me,                       If you would not be forgotten,
Commence and order my song.
As soon as you are dead and rotten,
Cool breezes blowing from Thy groves                     Either write things worth the reading,
Inspire my breast and rouse my heart.                     Or do things worth the writing.
— Homer
